METRANS Transportation Center is proud to announce that USC undergraduate students Thomas Check, Viterbi School of Engineering (VSoE); Edward Loera, Price School of Public Policy (Price); and Danielle Thomas, VSoE; were on the winning team in the Request for Proposal competition at the highly selective California Transportation Foundation Education Symposium held October 15th and 16th, 2015 at the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center. Price and VSoE faculty nominated these students to attend the conference from a large group of applicants representing the best and brightest junior and senior undergraduate students majoring in a transportation related field.

California Transportation Foundation, established over two decades ago, is the leading charitable transportation organization in the state. It provides scholarships for students planning a career in transportation, career development awards and recognition, and other services to recognize transportation workers and assist their families. CTF’s 21st Education Symposium brought together 38 students and high-level practicing professionals in interactive sessions exploring the field of transportation engineering and planning. It was a unique opportunity for students to increase their understanding of the field, seek career advice, and meet leaders in the field of transportation.
