Outreach Introduction

METRANS conducts an extensive outreach program to disseminate research results, engage transportation stakeholders, educate the public, and influence transportation policy.

  • Conferences and workshops provide an opportunity for faculty to share research findings with academics, students, and industry practitioners. Conferences and workshops create opportunities for collaborations, and for research to be informed by industry and community needs.
  • The annual Town Hall meeting convenes goods movement stakeholders to discuss topics that are important to both industry and community alike.
  • The biennial International Urban Freight Conference gathers freight researchers and practitioners from around the world to share research findings.
  • Communications media widely disseminate the results of all this important work to audiences throughout Southern California and beyond, allowing METRANS to be a national resource for information on solutions to metropolitan transportation problems.
