Summit Addressed California's Need for a Well-Trained Transportation Workforce

Presented by METRANS Transportation Center and the Mineta Transportation Institute in partnership with Long Beach City College, the Summit was titled "Ensuring the Growth of California's Transportation Workforce: Developing the Right Workforce for Today's Challenges and Tomorrow's Jobs." Transportation professionals and educators participated in this statewide policy summit, one of several summits around the country that will culminate in a national summit in Washington, D.C. in late 2010. Expert panels addressed career development, skillls gaps, training strategies, outreach, best practices and more. Included were 21 showcases featuring a variety of educational program available throughout California.
