The METRANS Transportation Center is pleased to introduce Student Assistant Yilin Zhang, who has recently joined the Center’s administrative team. Zhang was born and raised in China, where she completed her undergraduate degree in Administration in Land Resource Management at Nanjing Agriculture University. She is now pursuing her Master of Planning (MPL) degree with a concentration in transportation at the Price School of Public Policy at USC.

She became interested in METRANS after attending several Center events.  “METRANS has lots of research seminars about transportation which has helped me learn a lot about the field,” she said.  “Also, METRANS offers me many opportunities to connect with practitioners in diverse branches of transportation including planning, logistics, and policy.”

Zhang is especially intrigued by the research conducted by METRANS.  “I'm interested in transportation research, especially with regards to freight. Also, I'm interested in ArcGIS .” She aspires to become a professional practitioner in the transportation field and work with people from different backgrounds to solve pressing issues.
