Project description

This project examines traffic flow challenges at Uiwang inland container depot (ICD) and its surroundings. The Korean Government has implemented the freight transportation policy which focused on increasing rail share and enhancing competitiveness in terms of its service time and cost. For this reason, this project's purpose is to propose solutions that enhance the efficiency of truck movements including the improvement of intermodal transportation systems with a modal shift to rail transport. In addition, diverse strategies such as road system improvement, traffic rerouting, and advanced technology integration are under review.
