Alison Conway Awarded Best Paper in Freight Track at WCTR 2016

MetroFreight researcher Alison Conway and co-authors received the 14th World Conference on Transport Research (WCTR) best paper award for the Freight Transport and Logistics track.  Alison Conway, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering, City College of New York, presented the paper, Cargo cycles for local delivery in New York City:  Performance and impacts, during the Electric Vehicles, Alternative Fuels and Cargo Bikes session on July 14, 2016.  Her co-authors include Jialei Cheng, Camille Kamga, and Dan Wan.  The paper describes a research effort to estimate and compare the traffic performance of and externalities generated from human-powered cargo cycles and motorized vehicles conducting last mile deliveries in NYC.   Professor Conway’s paper was selected from 113 papers presented in the freight track. The WCTR is an international association of transport researchers.  The triennial meeting attracts over 1,000 researchers from around the world.  The 2016 meeting was held in Shanghai, from July 10 – 14.
