METRANS is a University Transportation Center devoted to the transportation issues of large metropolitan regions. You are invited to attend our first annual conference, to be held at the California Science Center, the new state-of-the-art science museum in Exposition Park. The theme of our conference is “Transportation for the Future: Southern California’s Place in the World.” Speakers will discuss the state of transportation in Southern California and offer their visions for how it will change as we enter the third millennium.
In addition to conference speakers, there will be
transportation exhibits from industry, government and universities. Student artwork will also be on display,
featuring high school students’ renditions of future transportation. Lastly, time is provided to tour the
California Science Center, including a large section on the science of
transportation.
