METRANS to Compete Nationally for Tier I Status

METRANS will compete this year to retain its status as a Tier I University Transportation Center. The Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act of 2005 (SAFETEA-LU), the omnibus transportation funding act passed in August 2005, authorized up to $76.7 million per year from 2005-2009 to support various types of University Transportation Centers (UTCs) throughout the U.S.

Caltrans Planners Learn more About Goods Movement

METRANS trained 21 Caltrans transportation planners about goods movement in Oakland April 26-28, according to Tom O’Brien, METRANS Applied Research Coordinator. It was the second year of METRANS training for Caltrans’ planners.

On April 7, USC’s School of Policy, Planning, and Development (SPPD) hosted the Dean’s Merit Scholar Program, a recruitment event for the most outstanding SPPD masters applicants.
